I’m a freelance editor who has been working in online and print media for over 20 years. Employed by leading content publishing houses such as Redwood, River, Dennis and Future, I’ve been privileged to edit and launch magazines and websites in a wide range of markets from consumer tech to photography, travel and lifestyle.
Highlights
SOCIAL MEDIA & PRINT

Most recently, I’ve been working for Jessops, writing weekly blogs on photography and new camera launches, as well as posts for their various social channels. Alongside this, I maintain my own social channels for Instagram, Flickr and 500px and have over 5000 followers, plus I write weekly blogs on photography for this website. Prior to this, I have launched (and relaunched) newsstand publications, customer magazines and websites and been involved in conceptual projects aimed at winning new business.
My editorial proposal helped River scoop Monarch’s inflight magazine, Passport, which I went on to edit for a couple of years. Around the same time I helped launch The Post, a print mag offering intelligent editorial for 50-something readers. Along the way, I’ve edited magazines for Virgin Holidays, Virgin Trains, Sega and Co-Op Travel, while on the newsstand I relaunched gadget mag, T3, and headed up Future’s technology portfolio.
With my experience in travel journalism, I also write travel articles and have written over 50 travel-related stories for the Staysure website, covering favourite holiday hotspots, buying abroad and expat issues.

PICTURES
As well as these editorial skills, I’m a keen photographer. This means I not only have a good eye for what makes a striking cover, I’m more than happy to take my own photos when I’m out and about. Having launched both Computer Arts and Advanced Photoshop magazines onto UK newsstands, I’m skilled at post, too. Examples of my photography can be found here.
PITCHING FOR NEW BUSINESS

I am often involved in new business pitches, coming up with branded content proposals and pitching creative concepts to the client. I’m skilled at finding ways to build online communities around a brand, increasing touch-points between clients and their customers. Having launched newsstand magazines in a variety of markets, I often work on the creative concept for new business pitches, visualising innovative ways of transferring a clients’ brand values into engaging and relevant content.
I have pitched magazine and content ideas to Thomas Cook Holidays, First Direct and Transpenine Trains (among others), with original approaches that employ digital and print to better connect customers to the brand. I’m skilled at working with clients and with large and small teams.
